Stowe Winter Carnival

Ranked #2 by Country Living as one of the “15 Best Winter Festivals All Across the U.S.” Winter Carnival celebrates the winter season, as we highlight many reasons why people visit our winter wonderland of Stowe! Stowe shines with major activities for both young and old, from zany sports events, the Ice Carving Competitions, astronomy/stargazing and the infamous Snowvolleyball tournaments.

Stowe Derby

The Stowe Derby is one of the oldest and most unique ski races in North America. With one of the largest and most diverse trail systems in the United States, Stowe ranks as one of the top cross-country skiing destinations on the east coast, including over 3,000 acres of conserved land. This event now includes Fat Bike Racers too!

Winter Rendezvous

The LGBTQ pride celebration in Stowe, Vermont, which coincides with Stowe’s Winter Carnival Festival, attracts hundreds of LGBTQ skiers, riders and winter enthusiasts to the quaint village of Stowe for five days of wintry bliss. Other outdoor activities include ice skating, horse drawn sleigh rides, snowmobiles, dog sledding, hot tubs and bonfires.

Get into the holiday spirit with a variety of festive activities, including tree lightings, a children’s lantern parade, holiday decorations, wagon rides, a holiday bazaar, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, live music, and a Santa Stroll to support local businesses.

Stowe Farmers Market

On Sundays May – October, from 10:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., the Stowe Farmers’ Market offers an incredible assortment of local fresh vegetables, meats, cheese, and many more. There are also stunning handmade items from local crafters. The prepared food vendors have got you covered for lunch at the market.

Craft Breweries

Vermont has more craft breweries per capita than any other state according the the Brewer’s Association. When it comes to quality and quantity of craft beverages, Vermont’s local brewers, vintners, distillers and cider makers lead the industry, and Stowe is home to some of the best. Located nearby are local favorites such as Stowe Cider and von Trapp Brewing. Explore one or all on your visit to Stowe.

Maple Syrup Sugar Festival

Spring’s arrival marks the start of maple sugaring season. From February through late-March, billowing white clouds of maple steam, rolling off the evaporators of nearby sugar houses, fill the air with a faint trace of sweetness. Stowe offers a few options for visitors hoping to watch the sugaring process.

Noon Music in May

Free concerts. Noon to 1 p.m. every Wednesday during the month of May. Stowe Community Church has graciously offered the sanctuary for the Noon Music in May concerts since the inception of the series in the early ‘80s. The acoustics and the intimate setting are perfect for the small ensembles presented in this series.

Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration

In partnership with the Town of Stowe, Stowe Vibrancy is very pleased to bring the 4th of July Parade to the Village of Stowe! There will be a full day of festivities and food – great eats from an array of food vendors, entertainment for the whole family, and live musical performances.

The Sound of Music, In Concert at Trapp Family Lodge

The hills will come alive with The Sound of Music: In Concert at Trapp Family Lodge June 20, 21, and 22, 2024. You can experience the legendary music of Rodgers & Hammerstein as it was destined to be heard. This first-of-its-kind event is brought to you by Lyric Theatre Company, Vermont Symphony Orchestra, and Trapp Family Lodge, with special support from The Flynn and Stowe Performing Arts.

Art on Park

Fridays, July 12 – August 23 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on the Village Green in Stowe.

Stowe Jazz Festival

The Stowe Jazz Festival is a celebration of the many sub-genres of Jazz with performances scheduled over three days at various venues—each one of them free to the public.

Race to the top of Vermont

Every August the Northeast Delta Dental Race To The Top Of Vermont draws hikers, bikers, and runners from across the U.S. and Canada to climb Mt. Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak.

Music in the Meadow

Music in the Meadow has been a long-standing tradition in Stowe and attracts many residents and visitors. The concerts are held in the meadow at Trapp Family Lodge.

British Invasion

British Invasion celebrates the great British Motorcar and British lifestyle in Stowe, Vermont. This three-day event will feature “all things British”, with a primary focus on classic British motorcar. A British Invasion Block Party on Stowe’s Main Street will kick off the weekend of festivities with live music, food and beverages and plenty of British motorcars to view.

Stowe Foliage Art Festival

Stowe celebrates foliage color with the Stowe Foliage Arts Festival. Celebrate Vermont’s most colorful season, while enjoying fine art and craftwork from 150 juried fine artists and artisans. There will be live music, good food, beer, wine and craft demonstrations.

Oktoberfest

The von Trapp Biergarten and Bierhall will host the Oktoberfest. Enjoy live Bavarian-style music from the Vermont German band Inseldudler. Tickets includes an appetizer, an entrée, a mug or a pint glass filled with a von Trapp lager.

Heady Trotter 4 Miler

The scenic town of Stowe hosts a four-mile road race that begins and ends at the Alchemist brewery. The event offers live music, food trucks, and lawn games throughout the afternoon. A portion of the registration fees also goes towards to Green Mountain Adaptive Sports.

Vermont 10-Miler

The Vermont 10-Miler is a circular course through ten miles of Stowe’s most beautiful roads. This course offers some great late autumn vistas and will challenge runners.
